Mission Statement

Beadesigner International (BDI) is a non-profit organization devoted to the study, design and research of beads, beaded jewelry and beaded objects. Our membership consists of beadmakers, jewelry designers, collectors, shop owners, gemologists, anthropologists, researchers and generally anyone interested in beads. Our main aim is to facilitate the exchange of ideas and knowledge amongst beadworkers and to promote beadwork to the public.

Our members work with glass, wire, polymer clay, precious metal clay, fiber and other materials to make objects for personal use and sale. BDI has a strong commitment to supporting the interests of our membership through monthly programs by local and national artists, historians, educators and others.  We sponsor workshops several times a year to keep members up-to-date on new techniques in their many fields of interest.

We cordially invite guests to attend meetings, meet fellow artists and bead enthusiasts during pre-meeting refreshments, listen to a brief business meeting and spend an enjoyable hour listening to a lecture, slide show or demonstration by the featured speaker. Guests are always welcome!
